But Mommy, they don't have a sewing machine.......

My mom fell last night and broke her hip and ended up having to have surgery today. McKenna was asking me what surgery was..........the conversation went as follows

McKenna: Mommy what's surgery
Me: Well the doctors are going to put Meme to sleep and then they'll have to cut a hole in her leg, then they'll go in and fix the bone and then sew her back up.
McKenna: But mommy, they don't have sewing machines at the hospital!

It was so cute I had to share!!! We did receive some good news, my mom's surgery was a success. They ended up having to put a few screws in her hip and she'll have to walk on a cane or use a walker for a few months. She'll have to go through some physical therapy but she should recover fine!! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!!!

McKenna lost her 1st tooth!!

McKenna has had 2 teeth that have been loose for quite some time. Today she was eating a candy cane and loosened up the bottom one really good. We've been fighting with her all day to pull but she was terrified that it would hurt. She wiggled it all day with her tongue and finally tonight it fell out. She was so excited!! She rushed to put it in her tooth fairy pillow. She told my mom that the tooth fairy was bringing her $20...........I think she may be a little disappointed tomorrow morning!!

Another year has come and gone and I have to say this one flew by!!! I can't believe 2008 is already over. We celebrated last night with our friends and their kids. We had a great night. I brought my camera but never used it so I don't have any pictures to share. I'm hoping 2009 turns out to be a great year. So far my resolutions are as follows.......

1. Lose 30 lbs...I plan on working out more and eating healthier.
2. Quit smoking. It's a horrible habit I started when I was 18. So far so good....I haven't had one
all day!! (see ticker at the bottom of the page)
3. Church......we've been so slack on this and we decided that this year we're going to be better
about going every Sunday.

I usually do pretty good at keeping my resolutions and I hope I can do the same this year.

We also have several things we're praying to happen this year. I hope and pray that my mom gets better. For those of you that don't know, my mom had a brain tumor about 2 yrs ago and had to have 3 surgeries plus radiation to remove it. She was doing great until this year. Her short-term memory is completely gone and it's very difficult for her to do normal things. The dr's told my dad that it's a side effect of the radiation. Some of these things will get better......it just takes time.

I'm also praying that we are able to get pregnant this year. We've been trying for over a year now with no luck. I have several friends going through the same thing and I pray that we all get pregnant this year!!!

Christmas.......

I'm so late on posting about our Christmas. We've been so busy lately!! We had an amazing Christmas. We did a lot of running around but it was so good to see all of our family! Sorry so many pictures!!!

I absolutely love Christmas and go a little overboard with decorating. We have 4 trees.....although the 4th one was in Kenna's playroom and isn't decorated. We're in the processing of decorating her playroom and I couldn't decide what them I wanted for that tree.

On Christmas Eve we went to Brannon's mom's (Nana) house to open gifts with her and the kids.

After Brannon's grandparents we had to go by my parents house to pick up some toys for "Santa". My sister and her family were up from Florida so we stayed and spent some time with them.
